Pazar gününden arta kalanlar: Urla Özbek köyüne bir gezi. Haftasonu ot festivali vardı, o bahaneyle yine gidelim dedik./ The remains of sunday: a trip to Urla Ozbek village. In the weekend there was the herb festival.We took it as an excuse to visit the village again.

10 yıl önce gittiğimde köy eski dokusunu koruyordu. Şimdi eski evlerin neredeyse hepsi metruk, yerlerini beton yapılar almış/ When i went there 10 years ago the village was still protecting its old tissue. Now almost all of the old houses are abandoned, they are taken over by concrete buildings.

İşim gereği ben pek çok köyde bulundum. Genelde kediler; köpekler,koyunlar, keçiler,atlar gibi "doğrudan" faydası görülebilen hayvanlar değildir. O yüzden köylerde kedi nüfusu azdır. Ama Özbek'te hem sayıları fazlaydı hem de hepsi ayrı ayrı güzeldi. Demek ki köydeki çoğunluk kedilere bakıyor. Bu kedinin önce öksürdüğünü duydum. Dönüp baktım, otların arasına saklanmış, neden sonra farkettim. Son yağmurlarda kötü üşütmüş. Üstü başı çamur içindeydi. (Sağlıklı kediler asla pis olmazlar zaten. Bir kedinin hasta olduğunu temizlik durumundan da anlayabilirsiniz) Güneşte ısınmaya çalışıyordu. Yanına yaklaştırmadı./ Because of my job, i have been to many villages. Generally, cats are not seen as "directly usable" animals as opposed to dogs, sheeps, goats or horses. Thus, the cat population in villages are relatively low. But in Ozbek there were many and each one of them was beautiful. I guess the villagers are taking care of them. I first heard this cat coughing. I turned back to see but it was hidden in grass. Then i noticed her. She had gotten cold during the last rains. She was covered in mud. (A healthy cat is never dirty. So you can detect a sick cat with its hygiene conditions) She was trying to warm up in the sun. She did not let me get closer.

Ayakta kalmış sayılı eski yapıdan biri restore edilmişti. Genel olarak çimentolu harç faciasını saymazsak (çimento ve taş asla yanyana gelmemesi gereken iki malzemedir) nitelikli işçiliği olan bir uygulama idi. Sonradan eklenen kuşevleri de evsahibinin duyarlılığını gösteriyordu. Çok sevdim./ One of the few old houses was restored. Except the cement mortar disaster (as stone and cement should never come together) it was a qualified execution. The lately added bird houses was showing the sensitivity of the landlord. I loved them.

 Ama öteki cephedeki klimanın dış ünitesi hiç olmamıştı!/ But the exterior unit of the air conditioner on the other facade wasn't supposed to be there!

 Yemek içmek fotoğraflarından hiç hoşlanmıyorum ama gördüğüm en fantastik kahve sunumuydu./ I dislike food or beverage photos on the blogs but this was a fantastic way of offering coffee.

 baharı selamlayan ağaçlar vardı.../ there were trees greeting spring...

 biz de güneşi ve denizi selamladık.../ we greeted the sun and sea...
