İndeks kartları 2017- 2. bölüm / Index cards 2017-part 2

Daisy Yellow Tammy Garcia'nın "hergüne bir indeks kartı" (icad) etkinliği başladı. Amaç Haziran-Temmuz ayları boyunca hergün bir indeks kartı ile çalışmak ve sanata az da olsa zaman ayırmak. 

Instagram üzerinde #dyicad2017 etiketi ile bu yıl üretilen kartları görmek mümkün.

"Index card a day" (icad) by Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow started. The aim is to work on an index card everyday through June and July. To reserve a little time for art.

Tammy bu etkinlik için hergün bir konu veriyor. Ancak konuya uyup uymamak tamamen size kalmış.

Ben ilk iki gün normal kartlarla çalıştım. Sonra kağıt yerine indeks kartı büyüklüğünde kumaşlar kullanmaya başladım.

Kasım ayı Creative Everyday Blog'undan Leah tarafından hergün sanat ayı olarak kutlanıyor. Ben de katılıyorum. Bazı günler 5-10 dakika bazı günler daha uzun. Şu ana kadar yaptıklarımı aşağıda paylaşıyorum.

November is celebrated as art everyday month by Leah Piken of Creative Everyday. I have joined, too. Some days for 5-10 minutes, somedays longer. I am sharing the things i have done until now.

Kasım ayı hergün sanat ayı. İlk günkü sayfalara ek yaptım. "Önümüzde, arkada bıraktıklarımızdan çok daha iyi şeyler var.- C.S. Lewis" Yaşam enerjimi deniz ve güneşten alıyorum. Normalde bu zamanlarda kış depresyonu çoktan başlamış olurdu. Bu sene ilk defa kışı dört gözle bekliyorum. Balkondaki bitkiler sayesinde kışı merak ediyorum, mevsimlerin daha bir farkındayım. İzmir'in kışı boğucudur, bulutlu, yağmurlu, fırtınalı. Öyle Ankara gibi karlı, aydınlık bir mevsim geçmez. Kış yavaş yavaş da gelmez. Ansızın bastırır, insan hazırlayamaz bile kendini. Ama bu yıl o sıkıntının çaresini buldum. Bütün sayfalara filizlerin sızması da bundan...14.11.2016

November is art everyday month. I have made some additions to the first day's pages. "There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind. - C.S. Lewis " I get my life energy from the sea and sun. Normally winter depression used to strike me during these months. This year i am looking forward to winter for the first time. I am curious about winter thanks to my plants on the balcony. I am more aware of the seasons. Winter of İzmir is depressing, cloudy, rainy and stormy. We don't have a snowy, bright winter like in Ankara. Winter does not arrive slowly either. It appears all of a sudden, so much that you can not even prepare yourself. But this year i have the cure for this. That is why the fronds creep unto every page...14.11.2016

Bahçe günlüğü. Hergün sanat ayı, gün 3. < / > Garden journal.(bahçe=garden in Turkish) Art everyday month, day 3.

Bugünkü çalışmam @yeni1anlam blogundan Sanem Hanım'ın #güzelbirizbırak fikrine destek vermek için. Etkinlik iptal olmuş ama bu durum hevesli minikleri engellememiş. İşte onlar bana ilham verdi. Önce bir damga ya da şablon tasarlarım diye düşünmüştüm. Ama sonra içimden geldiği gibi, plansız bir şey yapmak istedim. En basit araçları aldım; fırça ve boya. Bugünlerde hava fırtınalı, bulutlu. O yüzden hep sarıya meyilliyim, kaybolan güneş ışığını böyle dengeliyorum. Bu baskının ilk katmanı. Yarın yine çocukluğumuzdan hatırlayacağınız bir baskı ile ikinci katmanı ekleyeceğim.

Today's work is a support for the idea #güzelbirizbırak (leave a beautiful mark) by Mrs. Sanem Aker of @yeni1anlam blog. Although the challenge was cancelled this did not stop eager kids from joining in. They inspired me. First i considered designing a stamp or stencil. But then i wanted to do something unplanned. I grabbed the simplest tools; brush and paint. Recently, it is stormy and rainy here. So i am inclined to use yellow, that is how i balance the lack of sunshine. This is the first layer of the print. Tomorrow i will add a second layer using a printing technique familiar from our childhood.

pencere önü çiçeği/ flower in front of the window

Bu hafta çok kısa yazabileceğim. Geç saatlere kadar çalışıp uyumadan önce biraz boyalarla oynamak istedim. Sayfadaki çiçeği uzun zaman önce hızlıca tükenmez kalemle yapmıştım, yaprakları kuru boya ile boyamıştım. Sonra da pamuk ve yağ ile birbirine karıştırma denemesi yapmıştım. (yöntemi Alisa Burke'ün blogunda gördüm) Ne zamandır emektar pastellerime bulaşmıyordum. Çiçeğin etrafını da pastellerle boyadım. Yağlı pastelle detaylı bir çalışma yapmak neredeyse imkansız. Ama o  tombik boyaları elinize alıp sayfaya değdirince yumuşaklığını hissediyorsunuz. Doğrudan ellerinizle çalışmak çok rahatlatıcı. Her seferinde bir iş becermişim gibi hissediyorum :)

Pencere Önü Çiçeği sevdiğim bir şarkıdır, kasap kedisi olmakla sokak kedisi olmak arasındaki farkı anlatır :)

This week i can write very briefly. Before i went to bed after long hours of work i wanted to play with paints. I have sketched the flower with ballpoint pen a long time ago. I had colored it with color pencils and mixed the paints with cotton and oil.(I saw the method on Alisa Burke's blog) I wasn't using my veteran pastels since a long time. I painted the surrounding of the flower with pastels. It is almost impossible to make a detailed study with oil pastels. But when you grab those fat pastels and put them on paper you feel their softness. It is so relieving to work with your hands. Every time i do this, i feel like i have achieved something big :)

Flower In Front of the Window is one of my favourite songs. It tells the difference between being a butcher's cat and a stray cat :)

Ben boş bir sayfa yerine mavi akrilik ile boyadığım bir sayfayı kullandım. Beyaz akrilikle üzerini boyadım. Böylece bantları kaldırdığımda  beyaz-mavi çizgili bir sayfa oluştu. Beyaz bölümlere siyah keçeli kalemle bir şarkının sözlerini yazdım. Sonra da bazı harfleri kırmızı ile boyadım.Yeni Türkü'nün "Başka Türlü Bir Şey" şarkısı aslında Can Yücel'in şiirinden uyarlanmıştır.

This paper prompt had been designed by Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow blog. It is possible to mask the page with tape. I have started out by an already painted page with blue acrylic. I painted white acrylic in between the tapes. Thus when i removed the tapes i ended up with a blue-white striped page. I added song lyrics to the white areas. Then i colored in some of the letters with red. The Yeni Türkü song "A different kind of thing" is actually adapted from the poem of Can Yücel.

İlk okuduğumdan bu yana 15 yıl geçmiş, ara ara dönmüşüm, her seferinde çok sevmişim. Oyun üzerine yazılmış en güzel kitaplardan biri (Çekirge Oyun,Yaşam ve Ütopya-Bernard Suits), içinde şahane bir tanımla: "Oyun, hoşa gitmeyen bir şeyi yapmaktan hiçbir kayıp ya da zahmet olmaksızın kaçınabileceğin halde yine de devam edip onu yapmandır" Kafamda her zaman büyümeye ayak diremekle eşdeğer, o yüzden Le Guin'in Yerdeniz Öyküleri'ne eşlik edecek sayılı metinlerden. Hala geçerli ve inatçı.

It has been 15 years since the first time i've read it, i've returned back to it from time to time, and loved it every time. One of the most beautiful books written on game (The Grasshopper Games, Life and Utopia- Bernard Suits), with an amazing definition inside:"A game is when, although you can avoid doing something disagreeable without any loss or inconvenience you go ahead and do it anyway." In my mind it always equals to resisting growing up, thus may be one of the few texts which could accompany Le Guin's Tales of Earthsea. Still valid and stubborn.
