Hergün sanat/ Art everyday :: 81

İndeks kartları üzerine dolmakalemle yapılmış eskizler. Çizim hatalarını silmemek için kurşunkalem yerine dolmakalem kullandım.

Sketches with fountain pen on index cards. I used the pen instead of the pencil, in order to avoid erasing my mistakes.

-------------------
"index card a day" project was initiated by Tammy of Daisy Yellow blog. The aim was to do small, easy, daily art exercises on cheap index cards, thus beat the void/empty paper phobia. The project has been going on between June 1- July 31 since a couple of years and thousands of cards are shared over the internet. Reserving time for art on a daily basis may be like a therapy for anyone. Regardless of the materials or the medium you use, it is important to listen to yourself. You don't have to be an "artist" to reserve time for art. You don't have to be perfect. The only thing you need is to try and have fun.

-------------------------------------------
It would be a lie if i said i did so many artful things in this period. But i caught up in the end. And did these sketches in one night.

If you would like to doodle, have therapy with paints or do creative exercises have a look at Daisy Yellow blog.

----------
Another blouse from Burda.Don't know which issue. Our neighbour gave me the pattern. I had to decrease the arm pits.

Easiest blouse from Burda May 2013. The arms and width of 36 size were too big. I decreased the arm pit but did not work. Needs to be resized again.

As evident by the above photo, i am not fond of ironing. I know the secret of good sewing is ironing but this is the way i am. Yay for wrinkles...

Eylemlerim kesinlikle devam edecek...
------------------
I have embraced sewing as another form of design. Looking at patterns, thinking which piece goes where, dreaming of the whole, eventually ending up with something unexpected is quite fun. As i hate the system more and more nowadays i realize it brings me one step closer to my freedom. How beautiful it is for one to produce her own clothes. Being unique, wrapping yourself in natural fabrics, choosing sometimes muted sometimes bright colours, paying less. I will certainly continue my actions...

-----------------------
I bought this fleece in winter to sew a dress. But did not have the time. I have set up levels in sewing. From easiest to hardest it was skirt-blouse-dress-pants-jacket. It was time for the pants. I found the pattern on Anna Evers's web site. And modified it for myself. (i widened the lower part of the pants because the original pattern was for stretch fabric so my feet were not fitting in:) It is hard to put arms and sew hidden on pants. But the result is not bad.

-----------------
I have collected so many words in silence though there was so much to say...I could not pretend that nothing had happened but i did not use this space as a weeping wall either. As every summer i have let my inner stray child out, and found shelter in the sea and sun. I still have hope and stubbornness.
