I originally came because I finally saw your comment on my blog post about soda ash.
But first, I want to say how much I like this piece. It is beautiful and colorful
I was sorry to read about the bomb. I have no words for that. Surely an act of violence that shows how sadistic some people are. They don't want to look their victims in the eye when they kill them, which is so much harder for me to understand.
I like your December stamps. You created a fantastic alphabet and it will come in handy one of these days.
Now for the soda ash. Wikipedia does a pretty good job of explaining it. Probably better than I can.

Hope this helps you and hope you can translate it to Turkish, too.
I tried using other beans once, and they didn't work. Seems only the black beans have enough color when soaked to produce any significant color change.
I made this for a journal page. I don't make clothes or anything I have to sew with any precision. My fabrics are all torn, never measured, and sewn wonky. That's why I am so impressed with how you create new clothes from old.
Elizabeth, it is very kind of you to come here and comment in detail. Thank you very much.I was quite shy to start sewing, too. But the more you practice the better you get. My handmade garments are still very wonky but they are worn and loved very much :) Give it a try.
