Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow blog holds a creative challenge every year in June-July. It is called index card a day (these cards are also referred to as library/ catalogue/ note cards). The aim is to reserve some time for art everyday. The prompts are pretty basic. It is up to you how to use them. You may go without using the prompts, too. I have been joining since 2013. I could never finish 61 cards. But i have never beaten myself for that. Even three cards are better than no cards :)
I take this challenge as a recycling project. I don't buy new materials. I use waste papers- cardboards at home. Or i paint index cards that i have formerly used for work purposes. This year i started cutting the not-so-favourite index cards of former years :) Some had turned into cards again. Some had passed unto my art journal.
Here are the cards of week 1...
I haven't joined the ICAD yet, but maybe I'll do it next year. :)
YanıtlaSilYour cards are beautiful!
Simona, thank you very much. You can join this year, too. There is no pressure to do it all. It helped me to do art more regularly and explore ideas, without the fear of messing. If you don't like one day, you can try the next day :)
SilYour cards are wonderful! I especially love those scallop ones! I haven't decided yet to participate this year (lots of other things going on) but I am always tempted by cool ICAD posts like this!
YanıtlaSilMichelle (Lost Coast Post)
Hello Michelle. I loved your system last year, doing cards along with painting. This year i am also working in batches, 2-3 at a time. I think it is working for me better than one card every day.
Sillove all the patterns and color on your cards. Happy PPF!
YanıtlaSilThank you Linda.
SilOh my you have been busy Özge, I've never joined in with the ICAD, but it looks fun.
YanıtlaSilHappy PPF to you
Hello Neesie. ICAD really gives me structure. Low pressure but it works :)
SilThese are great! I love the ICAD idea.
YanıtlaSilThank you Minnemie. What not join in then?
Silinteresting things. The first one is my favorite :)
YanıtlaSilThank you. The first one is the darkest one of all, interesting choice :)
SilThis would be a great art project for my two girls - and we have a ton of these recipe cards that will never be used. A great rainy day project for this summer! I love the purple circles.
YanıtlaSilHello Rory. This is definitely great for kids. I know Tammy's daughters had been joining since years, too. The cards always come in handy on special days afterwards. No need to buy greeting cards anymore :)
SilHepsini sevdim, 3üncü gün favorim;))
YanıtlaSilÜçüncüsü en sadelerinden. Bu yıl iki uç arasında gidip geliyorum. Çini mürekkepli, tek renkli, fırçayla yapılmış sade kartlar. Öteki uçta da her türlü boya kullanılmış, kolajlı kartlar. Bakalım 61 kartı görecek miyim :)
SilThank you for creating ICAD, Tammy :) It is my favourite art challenge :) This year i really hope to stick till the end.
YanıtlaSilÖzge, they all look extremely yummy! Love the combination of collage and color on these! :-)
YanıtlaSilThank you Hanna :) I remember your 365 collage series, they were great. Though i can not keep it up for a whole year, trying this in 62 days is more managable for me. Leaving the prmopts out also helped :)
SilYou made some wonderful note cards here. Sounds like a neat project to take part in, sadly I won't have the time for it though.
YanıtlaSilThank you Claudia.I think the hardest part was the beginning. now it feels easier and more natural to keep up with the challenge.
