Ofisin penceresinden/ from the office window
Uzun yolculuklardan sonra geriye dönüp ofise geldiğimde artık kanıksadığım bir sürü detayın yeniden farkına varıyorum. Bazen de o kadar kısa bir sürede ne çok şey değişmiş diye şaşırıyorum. Mevsimlerin geçişini izliyorum.

After returning from long trips back to the office i notice many details again that i have been used to so much that i have started to ignore. And sometimes i am surprised to see so much have changed in such a short period of time. I watch the seasons pass by.
Bu yaya köprüsü eski gümrük binası (yeni Konak Pier) ile Kemeraltı'nı birbirine bağlıyor. Üzerinden abartısız binlerce kez geçtiğim bu köprü yakın zamanda gökkuşağı oldu. Hemen başında yerde "Biz halkız" yazıyor. Bugün İzmir'de somurtuk bir sonbahar günü olabilir ama şu umut bana bütün kış yetecek gibi gözüküyor.

This pedestrian bridge connects the former customs building (now Konak Pier Shopping Center) with Kemeraltı historic marketplace. This bridge that i have crossed a thousand times without exagguration has become a rainbow recently. At the start, it has "We are the People" written on the ground. It may be a cranky autumn day in Izmir today but that hope will be enough for me through the whole winter apparently.
Bütün bu gri betonun içinde doğa direniyor. Şu şahane "tasarlanmış" dükkan önü gölgelikleri bile sarmaşıklara yenilmiş. İşte medeniyet doğaya ancak bu kadar söz geçirebiliyor...

Among all this grey concrete the nature is resisting. Those magnificently "designed" sunshades are taken over by ivies. This is the poor limit which civilization can put on nature...
