------------------
"Index card a day" (icad) by Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow has been held for years now. It continued through June and July. For this challenge we worked on an index card everyday for 2 months.
You can see the whole of the cards of this year on instagram with the tag #dyicad2017.

---------------------------
This year i have started with common cardboard index cards. But on the third day i realized that i wanted to work with fabric.

-----------------------
I thought i could use each piece to design something new in the future.

Bu haftaki parçalar son bölümü oluşturuyor. İtiraf etmeliyim toplamda 54 kart hazırladım. Hala 61'e tamamlamak istiyorum ama zamanım olduğunda :)
------------------------
The pieces of this week belong to the latest part. I must confess i have prepared 54 pieces in total. I still want to complete them to 61 when i can find the time:)

Genel olarak tüm parçalarda akrlik boya kullandım. Bazen başka bir kumaşın parçalarını ekledim. Bazen de dikiş ile denemeler yaptım.
----------------
In general i used acrylics on all pieces. Sometimes i have added fabric pieces from different sources. And occasionally i made experiments with stitching.

-------------
I care about the authenticity of my work. So i use my handmade stamps/ stencils or found objects from home.

--------------------

I also tried different methods to apply acrylic paint: my own fingers, brush, squeezing directly on fabric, with a brayer, with a sponge...

----------------
The challenge required that you reserve time for art everyday. Of course i could not manage it. Some days were no art and some days i could spend a few hours playing with fabrics.

Yaptığım her parçaya bayılmadım.
---------------------
I did not love each piece i made. But each one gave me new ideas. I also wanted to change/ develop the finished pieces during the challenge. But i resisted this urge, too. I thought it would be better after the challenge is over and some time has passed.

--------------
I think i am more open to experimenting with this attitude. This is a learning process. I can not expect the first pieces to be "masterpieces". Besides, i can cut up the pieces as i like, mess up irreversibly. It becomes harder to touch them once they become too precious.

-------------------------
What say you? Shall we make an assessment? First of all i congratulate myself for completing 54 cards in 61 days :) And i promise to do better in the future. At this point the biggest thank you goes to Tammy for holding the challenge. And then to all the artists from around the world who joined in and presented their constructive critics.
İlk değerlendirme konularına göre: 1. Figürlü kartlar.
---------------
First assessment is regarding themes: 1. Figured cards.

 2. Soyut kartlar
----------------
2. Abstract cards
 3. Çiçekli kartlar
-------------
3. Floral cards
-----------------
Second assessment is regarding the techniques i have used: Fabric collage on fabric with acrylic paint.

------------
Stitches and acrylics. And the biggest group is acrylics only. But i could not find a surface big enough to photograph them.

  3. I was delighted to see these pieces, especially since I'm not a member of Instagram. I love the way you used your own stamps and stencils instead of commercial ones. That is what draws me to your art. Of course, my favorite has to be the beautiful birds.

BTW, I didn't like all of mine, either, but that didn't stop me from making them, even though I often felt rushed in July.

    1. Thank you Elizabeth. At some point i stopped following the prompts and went on my own way. This took the pressure off.

  5. What a fabulous post... I love your assessment of it all!! I wish I had done it this year... I have loved it in the past and in fact used a few former icads to put together this month as a banner. These are all so wonderful.. love the variety and themes!! Have you considered sewing them all together I wonder? I think it was so intuitive to go with the fabric since that seems to be a favourite of yours! I too like to keep to the authenticity by using my own stamps. I think you've taken this challenge in a wonderful new direction that I feel may lead to more interesting artwork!! Great job!

    Peace Giggles

    1. Thank you Giggles. I have a lot of plans for the fabric works but could not find the time yet :) I want to work with them seperately. I do not have any quilting experience.
